The short version

• Your songs, services, notes, media, themes and Bibles are stored on your computer. We never receive them.
• Live Preaching recognises speech on the computer itself. No audio is uploaded, and transcripts stay on your computer.
• Using Flames Studio for free needs no account and never contacts our billing service.
• There are no ads, analytics or tracking in the app or on this website.

When you sign in or subscribe

Paid plans belong to an email account. When you sign in or subscribe, our billing service keeps:

• your email address, which we use to send sign-in codes and to link your subscription;
• sign-in codes, stored only as a hash and valid for a short time;
• for each computer you sign in on, a random identifier made by the app, a salted hash of the computer’s hardware ID, the computer’s name and when it last checked in, so we can keep an account to 3 computers and show you which ones are signed in;
• your plan, your Stripe customer reference and any access codes you’ve redeemed;
• a hash of your network address while you enter codes, to slow down guessing.

Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe sends receipts to your sign-in email.

Features that use the internet

• Phone remote. On the same network, the remote talks to your computer directly. When you use it from anywhere else, slide text and service item names pass through our relay on Cloudflare to reach your phone. The relay keeps only the room’s identifier, its PIN and a connection token, not your content.
• Streaming. When you go live, your video goes straight to the service you choose, such as YouTube or Facebook, under that service’s terms.
• Web pages and online media. Pages you open in the Web tab, and online videos you add, load from the sites they come from.

Where your information is kept

The billing service runs on Vercel in London, with its database on Neon in London (AWS eu-west-2). Sign-in emails are sent through Hostinger’s mail servers. The phone remote relay runs on Cloudflare. These providers process data for us to run Flames Studio and nothing else.

This website

This site is hosted on Vercel and sets no cookies. Its fonts load from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google when it opens the page. Downloads come from GitHub.

How long we keep it and your rights

We keep your account for as long as you have it. You can ask us at any time for a copy of what we hold about you, or to correct or delete it, by emailing flames@samuelowusu.com. Deleting your account ends any paid plan on it. Stripe keeps payment records for as long as the law requires.

If you’re in the UK or EU and unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data protection authority.

If this policy changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we’ll also email signed-in accounts.
